  • Lettuce wraps: Samgyeopsal is usually wrapped in lettuce leaves along with other ingredients to make Assam (wraps). This is a key component.
  • Rice and soup: Most restaurants will also serve white rice and soups like doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) or kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew). These are often free.
  • Banchan (side dishes): Common banchan include kimchi, jangahjji (pickled vegetables), raw garlic, chili peppers, onion, mushrooms, bean sprouts, spinach, etc. 3-4 banchan sides are typical.
  • Ssamjang (dipping sauce): The ssamjang sauce for dipping and wraps is made with doenjang (soybean paste), gochujang (chili paste), minced garlic, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and other ingredients.
  • Sesame oil and salt: A small dipping dish with this simple mixture is usually provided for dipping the pork.
  • Cold noodles or rice dishes: Many places also serve cold noodles, japchae noodles, or fried rice to accompany the meat.
